buff boards, blue vignette, blue open-wing eps. Open wing logo - although presentation book plate on front eps dated 1964. Tiny book sellers label on eps. 5th of 8 titles listed on back DJ flap. DJ not price clipped, lightly frayed along top and bottom edge. Minor loss head and foot of spine. VG+/VG- £28.00         
Downy Duckling
Downy Duckling 2nd edition, published a month after the 1st edition. Mottled brown textured boards with pasted on colour plate. Line drawing endpapers (tiny neat name in corner). Stitching good but just beginning to loosen. Pages clean and illustrations bright. There is a light ghost-sellotape mark towards the base of spine and on boards and the spine is beginning to peel at the bottom. The dustwrapper is not price clipped. Worn along edges and there is 1.5 narrow rectangle of loss along the spine panel, which stops just short of the letter D of Downy, and a longer tape residue mark (see picture). DW now protected in removeable archival wrap.

The book is very nice and clean - unmarked but for a neat adult's name on the title page. The DJ is not price clipped. Just a little light wear at edges.

Smoke and Fluff A lovely copy, Fine condition, of this popular story in verse from Ladybird series 401, complete with original dustwrapper. Buff boards with blue line drawing to cover. Blue, open-winged ladybird endpapers. Pages clean and bright and tight. Unmarked but for a neat adult's inscription (dated Christmas 1964) on the fly-leaf. Dustwrapper very clean and bright with minimal signs of age or wear - but missing the front flap. This fault is not very noticable as the books is in removable clear archival wrap £12.00

In the Country with Uncle Mac, series 455 Book Good, Dustwrapper Poor. 5th edition, 1959. Buff boards with green picture on cover. Blue open-winged endpapers have sellotape residue marks (but no tape) and a school stamp. There's a line drawb right across title page too, indicating withdrawn from library. But the book is basically in good shape, with secure, otherwise unmarked pages. The dustwrapper is rather sad. It was once coated in clear plastic. Someone has tried to remove this but only succeeded in tearing the paper and gave up. But it's complete and unclipped and, as the spine panel is unscathed, improves the appearance of the book on a shelf.
