A Third Book of British Birds, 1956, with DJ

A Third Book of British Birds and Their Nests, 1956.  Series 536.

This is the third book in the Nature series, 536 and the first book to be illustrated by Roland Green.   Allen Seaby died very shortly after completing the first two bird books and Green, in addition to this book, also illustrated ‘Wild Animals’.

This copy:

A very good book in a good DJ (price-clipped).  The DJ is a little foxed, a bit grubby and there is a white mark (tipp-ex?) on the breast of the bird on the cover (see photo).   There is also a number written on the front dj flap.  The book itself has blue open–winged endpapers and is in very nice condition.

This copy still has its original dustwrapper (price-clipped).  The dustwrapper is in good condition but there are a few small foxing marks light stains on it.  The book has white endpapers.  The book is in very good condition and the pages are nice and clean.
