Arms and Armour, 1964, Series 601

£4.00

The Story of Arms and Armour was first published in 1971 and was the 17th title in the long-running Achievements series, 601.  It was illustrated by the brilliant visual-storyteller Robert Ayton and written by  Edmund Hunter.

As is typical of golden-age Ladybird books, it was fine to talk about long-ago battles but there was little taste for discussing 20th century warfare.  Only limited reference is made to modern weapons – the focus is on cross-bows, muskets and cannon.

This matt copy is in really very good condition inside and out.  Not much wear to the boards and clean, tight pages. It  dates from the 1970s and was originally priced at 15p.
