Ballet, 1969, Series 662

Ballet was the 3rd book to be issued in series 662.  It was written by Ian Woodward. It is beautifully illustrated by Martin Aitchison.  If as a child you badly wanted ballet lessons, like me,  this book was as close as you could get and I used the endpapers to try to teach myself the 5 basic ballet positions.  If you were lucky enough to have ballet lessons, I expect you were inspired by the Degas-like illustrations of back stage excitement and the dramatic scenes from Swan Lake/

This matt copy is in very good condition, inside and out.  It has clean pages and the expected amount of shelf wear. It is an early edition, tally number 230,  dating from the late-1960s and has an original price of 2/6 on the back.
