Ballet, 1969, Series 662

Ballet was the 3rd book to be issued in series 662.  It was written by Ian Woodward. It is beautifully illustrated by Martin Aitchison.  If as a child you badly wanted ballet lessons, like me,  this book was as close as you could get and I used the endpapers to try to teach myself the 5 basic ballet positions.  If you were lucky enough to have ballet lessons, I expect you were inspired by the Degas-like illustrations of back stage excitement and the dramatic scenes from Swan Lake/

This matt copy is in very good condition, inside and out.  It has very nice clean, tight pages and very little wear. It dates from the late-1970s and has an original price of 40p stamped on the back.
