Bedtime Rhumes, 1978
A collection of bedtime poems by different writers. The collection is edited by Audrey Daly and illustrated by James Hodgson. This is one of those titles that can confuse the uninitiated. There was a much earlier Ladybird book which was also called Bedtime Rhymes. The earlier one was completely different; it was first published in 1946 but it stayed in print until the mid -1960s. This copy is very 1970s with Hodgsons brightly coloured, jazzy illustrations. It contains the poems ‘When Daddy Fell into the Pond’ ‘The Moon’, ‘The Engine Driver’ and ‘Mud’.
This matt copy is in very good condition inside and out. It has very little wear and nice clean, tight pages. It dates from the early 1980s and has the original price of 60p stamped on the back.
