Birds and How they Live, 1966

Birds and How they Live, 1966,  Series 651.

This is the 3rd book in the Natural History series, 651. Birds and How they Live was written by Newing and Bowood and illustrated by Ronald Lampitt.   This book is an attractive balance between picture-book and Natural History textbook.  The scope of the book is, of course, very wide so the book covers the topic with a broad brush.

This copy:

Matt boards.    It’s in very good condition inside and out – still with strong, crisp edges.  Nice, clean pages too – although there’s a neat name to the front endpapers.  It dates to the 1960s and has an original price of 2/6 printed inside.  With a tally number of 150, I believe it to be a first edition.
