British Wild Flowers, 1957 edition.  Series 536.

The illustrations of the beautiful book are a collaboration between a  husband and wife team.  The great watercolour artist Rowland Hilder painted the background while Edith Hilder produced the exquisite foreground botanical studies.  The two also collaborated with equal success on the Shell Guide posters of the same decade.

This copy

This copy still has its original dustwrapper which is not price-clipped but is a little edgeworn with nicks and small closed tears.  There are also a couple of inconspicuous pen marks on the front panel (see photos).  Inside the book has white endpapers with a couple of names and stamps to the front endpapers.  The pages are generally in good, clean condition.
