Great Inventions  was first published in 1961 and was only the second title in the long-running Achievements series, 601.  It was illustrated by the brilliant visual-storyteller Robert Ayton and was written by Richard Bowood.  The inventions celebrated in the book are discussed in chronological order, one page per invention, and range from The Telescope, through to Atomic Energy.

This book  still has its original unprice-clipped DJ in good condition; It is a little rumpled with edge wear and nicks especially head of spine panel.  There a couple of ink marks on the back panel.   The book itself is in good condition, with the odd minor blemish and a name on the front endpapers.
