Public Services: Gas, Series 606e

Techically Gas, 1967, doesn’t belong to the ‘People at Work’ series – but in every sense that counts it does – artist, writers, and era.  It was the second of the 3 ‘Public Services’ books in series 606e, written by I & J Havenhand and, like all the books in this series, was beautifully, lovingly illustrated by John Berry.   John Berry’s photorealism can take a rather dry subject and make it engaging.

This matt copy is  in very good condition.   There’s minor spine damage, a little shelf wear on the back cover and nice, clean pages. With a tally number of 180 and an original price of 2/6, I believe it to be a first edition.
