Rumpelstiltskin, 606d, 1968 (pen marks)

Rumpelstiltskin, 1968.  This is the 11th tale in the original Well Loved Tale series with, many would say, the scariest of all villains – brilliantly illustrated by Eric Winter. Many remember Rumpelstiltskin, in a rage, stamping his foot.  One of the scariest of the Ladybird villains, as I say.  But wasn’t the real villain of this tale the king?

This copy has matt boards.  It would be in  very good condition, inside and out – with only moderate wear to the boards and edges and nice clean pages – BUT there’s a pink pen scribble on the first text page (see photos).  A real pity as otherwise a nice copy in all other respects.  This copy dates from the early 1970s and has the original price of 18p on the back on the back.
