The Farmer 1963 was the 5th book to be issued in series 606b and was originally issued with a dustwrapper. It was written by I & J Havenhand and, like all the books in this series, was beautifully, lovingly illustrated by John Berry. This is a beautiful book with lots of lovely illustrations that show Britain at the early stages of the mechanisation of the farming industry.
This matt copy is a nice copy but it has been covered in clear plastic – the plastic is matt not glossy so that you only know it’s there if you look closely. This has protected it well over the years. Inside it is in very good condition with just a neat name to the endpapers. Unfortunately, the owner also decided to sign it on the cover (unobtrusively and in small writing just above the title) before covering it. It dates from the mid-1970s and has an original price of 24p on the back.
