The Ladybird Book of Prayers Through the Year feels like a nostalgic trip back to 1960s school assemblies. It is a calendar of lovely illustrations, by artist Clive Uptton, and kind thoughts about counting your blessings and living your best life. Despite the title, the illustrations are very domestic – meal times, walks in the country, holidays by the sea etc. The illustrations could have comes straight out of Treasure Magazine – where Uptton was the main illustrator. First printed in 1964, it was one of the last titles to be originally printed with a dust jacket.
This is a matt edition. It’s in very good condition inside and out – there’s just an address label and a number on the front endpapers. The book itself date from the late-1960s and has an original price of 2/6 printed inside.
