The Princess and the Frog – in Arabic

£8.00

The Princess and the Frog 1967.  This book was the last of the books in the original series of 27 Well-Loved Tales books.  The text, as always in the books of this series, was originally  written by Vera Southgate but this was the only book to be illustrated by Capaldi.

This book has been translated into Arabic so there’s not much else I can tell you about it since I don’t speak Arabic.  It has glossy covers so can’t be very old.  Of course, it is designed to be read from right to left, so the back cover is where you’d expect the front cover to be in the original version.  The colours of the reproduction are a tad garish – but i do like the Arabic added to the Ladybird logo which gives it, to my eye, a very exotic look.
