The Story of Joseph was the 4th book to be issued in series 522. (Other bible stories are to be found in an later Ladybird series: 606a.)
It was written by Lucy Diamon, illustrated by Kenneth Inns and was originally issued with a dust jacket. It’s a pity that Inns didn’t illustrate many books for Ladybird; he had a lovely touch and sense of colour.
This copy still has it’s original dustwrapper, price-clipped and in fair/good. It’s frayed head and food to spine panel, peeling at head of spine and grubby, especially on back panel. Inside though, the book is in good condition. There’s a brown line drawing on the front. The endpapers are grey-brown open wing logo and the doodle you can see in the photo has now been largely erased. There’s a name on the first free endpaper. Being an older edition – the illustrations are particularly bright and luminous. Being an early edition, it has a catalogue page in the back, with some titles underlined in pencil. The last title listed in ‘The Farm’.
