A Third Book of British Birds, 1956, with DJ (4th ed)

A Third Book of British Birds and Their Nests, 1956.  Series 536.

This is the third book in the Nature series, 536 and the first book to be illustrated by Roland Green.   Allen Seaby died very shortly after completing the first two bird books and Green, in addition to this book, also illustrated ‘Wild Animals’.

This copy still has its original dustwrapper, which has been price-clipped.  Both book and DJ are in good/VG condition for their age. DJ edges are rather frayed and discoloured and a little loss head and foot of spine panel. The book itself is in very nice, clean condition and has grey-brown, open-wing endpapers.  It has titles listing down to ‘The Farm’ on the back catalogue page.  Judging by that, I believe this book is a 4th edition making it a pretty early copy.
