Great Civilisations The Incas, 1978, Series 561

Great Civilisations The Incas was one of the last books in the long-running Ladybird history series.  It was written by Brenda Lewis and illustrated by Jorge Nunez.  This book was only ever issued with this style of cover.

There were 6 different titles in the Great Civilisations books, and I’m sure most of them were the basis of many a school project in the 70s and 80s.  Dating from after the sale of the company in the early 1970s, the look and layout of the book are different – mainly because text and illustration are not kept separate.

This book has matt boards and is in very good condition with little wear and clean, tight pages.  Although this copy has an original price of 50p stamped on the back,  I believe it to be a first edition
