Public Services: Electricity, Series 606e

Techically Gas, 1966, doesn’t belong to the ‘People at Work’ series – but in every sense that counts it does – artist, writers, and era.  It was the second of the 3 ‘Public Services’ books in series 606e, written by I & J Havenhand and, like all the books in this series, was beautifully, lovingly illustrated by John Berry.   John Berry’s photorealism can take a rather dry subject and make it engaging.

This matt copy is in ‘good’ condition only – a lot of shelf wear has left the covers and bit grubby.  Inside there are signs of a school library with a library plate to the free endpaper and a school stamp on the title page.  The reading pages are in good condition. This copy dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 18p on the back.
