A First Book of Saints, Series 606a

A First Book of Saints, 1961) was the 5th book to be issued in series 606a.  (Other bible stories are to be found in an earlier Ladybird series: 522.)

It was written by Hilda Rostron, illustrated by Martin Aitchison and was first issued with a dust-wrapper.  This was to be the first Ladybird book that Aitchison ever illustrated for Ladybird – the start of what was to be a very long and successful collaboration with the company.

This matt copy is in very good condition inside and out but for a grubby mark on the back cover (see photo).  Otherwise, only light wear to the boards and nice, clean pages.  It dates from the 1970s and has an original price of 24p on the back.
