A First Book of Saints, Series 606a (DJ)

A First Book of Saints, 1961) was the 5th book to be issued in series 606a.  (Other bible stories are to be found in an earlier Ladybird series: 522.)

It was written by Hilda Rostron, illustrated by Martin Aitchison and was first issued with a dust-wrapper.  This was to be the first Ladybird book that Aitchison ever illustrated for Ladybird – the start of what was to be a very long and successful collaboration with the company.

This copy still has its original dustwrapper (not price-clipped).  The book is in G+ condition – clearly used, a hint of discoloration but clean –  and the VG DJ is a little frayed and rubbed at the edges (see photo).  With a tally number of 100, I believe this to be a first edition.
