There were several versions of a book bought out under this title from the 1940s onwards, so it’s very important to check that you are buying the right book.

This is the original version from 1946 – the third title in series 413.  It is written by Geoffrey Lapage and beautifully illustrated by George Brock in soft pastels

This is a Good copy  in a Good dustwrapper – not price-clipped.  The DJ is rather tatty and creased at the edges with nibbles and small areas of loss head and foot of spine.  The book a green line drawing on buff boards under the DJ.  The pages are almost VG but for one fault – two small pen marks under the text on one pages (see photos).  A nice copy of a rare and beautiful book.
