Great Civilisations Egypt, 1973, Series 561 (blue)

Great Civilisations Egypt was one of the last books in the long-running Ladybird history series.  It was written by E J Shaw and illustrated by Jorge Nunez.  This book was originally issued with a more traditional cover style but is more commonly found in this style.  However, the cover is the only change – inside the book has the traditional format of text on the left and illustration on the right.

There were 6 different titles in the Great Civilisations books, and I’m sure most of them were the basis of many a school project in the 70s and 80s.

Matt boards.  This book is in very good condition inside and out.  It has the later style blue frame cover style.  There’s a little wear to the spine head and foot, but very  nice, clean pages.  With a mainly white cover, these books get grubby quickly but this one is still very clean.  It dates to the early late 1970s/1980s.
