How it Works Farm Machinery, 1970 was the 9th title in the How-it-Works series, 654.  It was written by the mysterious David Carey and illustrated with typical precision by B H Robinson.  The huge revolution that was the mechanisation of farming was well underway by 1970 – but still had a long way to travel.  The machines pictured look very cosy and compact today.
