The Aeroplane, 1967 was the 4th title in the How-it-Works series, 654.  It was written by David Carey and illustrated with typical precision by B H Robinson.

If you are of a certain age, you will find it packed with nostalgia – representing as it does the excitement of TV and suggestion scenes from Dr Who, Top of the Pops and Grandstand.
