Kings and Queens of England, Book 2, 1968

The second of the two ‘Kings and Queens’ books of the 1960s, written by L du Garde Peach. This title was later revised – first to give it a new-look cover and then subsequently it was completely re-written and re-illustrated (taking away just about all of its considerable charm in the process).  But this copy is the original.
The vivid, startling illustrations are by Frank Hampson. All the other history books of this era (Series 561) are illustrated by John Kenney.

Matt boards generally in good condition inside and out – quite heavy wear to the edges and the odd minor scuff, a book plate to the front endpapers, good pages.  This copy dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back.
