This book was only ever published in the ‘Learnabout’ series.  The other book about football ‘The Story of  Football’ is a very different book – much earlier and with a different writer and artist.  This was one of the last new titles to come out with matt boards.  As a result, it is more commonly found with glossy, laminated boards. It was written by John P Baker and was illustrated with many photographs but also with some diagrams and illustrations by Peter Robinson.

This matt copy is in very good condition inside and out with very good, clean pages and little wear.  It dates to the early 1980s and has the original price of 70p on the back.
