The Child of the Temple, Series 522 (DJ)

The Child of the Temple was the first book to be issued in series 522.  (Other bible stories are to be found in an later Ladybird series: 606a.)

It was written by Lucy Diamon, illustrated by Kenneth Inns and was originally issued with a dust jacket.   It’s a pity that Inns didn’t illustrate many books for Ladybird; he had a lovely touch and sense of colour.

This copy:

A nice copy of the book in a VG DJ.  The DJ is not price-clipped and is a little worn at the edges –  the book shows only light wear. The endpapers are grey, open-wing design. The beautiful illustrations seem to glow on the page.  BUT the front free endpaper has been glued the the next preliminary page – presumably to hide an inscription.
