The Road Makers, Series 606b

The Road Makers 1967 was the 12th book to be issued in series 606b.  It was written by I & J Havenhand and, like all the books in this series, was beautifully, lovingly illustrated by John Berry.   This book briefly looks at the history of road building in this country and then takes the reading through the develpment of a new motorway, from traffic monitoring to design to completion.  Usually the road featured in the illustrations is the construction of the M1 motorway, so it’s a real slice of British 20th century history.

This matt copy has some wear to edges and corners but is still in VG condition inside and out. It dates from the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back.
