The Stories of our Special Days and Customs, Series 644 (Scruffy)

There were only two books in series 644 – this one and ‘Stories of our Christmas Customs’.   This one was only ever issued with matt boards – never with a dustwrapper but is more often found with matt boards today.  The book was written by N F Pearson and illustrated by Roger Hall.

Matt boards, in fair-good condition.  The faults can be seen from the photos: heavy rubbing to spine, specks of dirt to the back cover and, additionally, some puncture marks to the back pastedown.  Still, a decent copy of a hard-to-find book. It dates from the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back. With a tally number of 300, I believe it to be a first edition.
