The Story of Football, 1964, Series 561 (matt)

The Story of Football was one of only two books published in series 606c (The Story of Cricket was the other).  The book was written by Vera Southgate and was illustrated by Jack Matthew.

This topic was later revisited in the 1970s in Learnabout Football – but the later book has none of the charm of this one which is more about the history than the rules of the game.  Only the first edition was ever published with a dustwrapper.

This copy has matt boards and is in very good condition inside and out –  few small spots and scuffs to the cover/edges – but nice, clean pages.  It dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back.
