The Story of Metals, 1971, Series 601

The Story of Metals was first published in 1971 and was the 18th title in the long-running Achievements series, 601.  It was illustrated by byMartin Aitchison and was written by his father, a professor of Metallurgy.  The illustrations (much more lively and fun than you might expect) also feature Aitchison’s son, who posed for a couple of the pictures.  This book is one of the hardest to find books of this era, so perhaps not a best-seller.

Matt boards.  Very good condition inside and out.  The pages are nice and clean although there’s a little foxing to the cover and the preliminaries.  This copy dates to the early-1970s and has the original price of 18p on the back.
