Victoria, 1976, Series 561

Queen Victoria was the 42nd book to be published in the long-running series 561, History series.  It was only ever published with this style of cover.  It was w ritten by J Yglesias and illustrated by Roger Hall.  Typical of the books published after the mid-1970s, the format of this book breaks away from the traditional Ladybird format: it has pictures on both sides of the page and text which also straddles both.

This book has matt boards.  It is in good condition: the cover is very grubby and there’s an inconspicuous scuff (white on white) near her head.  I have successfully removed the rest of the price label that you can see in the picture so it now looks better than in the photos.  Front cover aside, the rest of the book is in VG condition with nice, clean pages. It dates from the late 1970s.
