The Policeman, Series 606b Revised version

The Policeman 1962 was the 2nd book to be issued in series 606b.  It was written by I & J Havenhand and, like all the books in this series, was beautifully, lovingly illustrated by John Berry.  This is a beautiful, evocative book which shows Britain very much in the spirit of ‘Dixon of Dock Green’.  It was revised in 1972 to update it and it’s interesting to browse both original and revised version side by side and to note the different ideas of police equipment, police vehicles and what a villain probably looks like.

This matt copy is the revised (1972) version in VG condition inside and out but for some grubby marks on the front cover (see photo).  Inside it has very nice, clean and tight pages.   It dates from the mid-1970s and has an original price of 24p on the back.
