Peter and Jane 6a Our Friends,1960s

£2.50

There were 36 book in total in the Key Words reading scheme – the Peter and Jane books.  Each of 12 levels was divided into three: a, b and c.  The ‘a’ books introduced new vocabularly which was reinforced in the ‘b’ books while the ‘c’ books tended to focus on writing, spelling and phonics.  Book 6a was first published in 1964 and revised in 1978.  It was written by William Murray and illustrated by Martin Aitchison.

This matt copy is the original 1960s version.  In very good condition outside and inside BUT for the fact that some of the words on a number of the pages have been underlined (probably by a parent or teacher).  This is in pencil; it would mainly erase, but not completely.  But if this doesn’t trouble you – or just adds to the history – it’s otherwise in very nice condition with suprisingly fresh looking boards.  This copy dates to the 1970s has an original price of 24p on the back.
