On the Railways, Series 606b, 1972

On the Railways, 1972 was the penultimate book to be issued in series 606b.  It was written by John Forbes and, like all the books in this series, was illustrated by John Berry.  It is filled with the essence of the time – a snapshot of the later days of British Rail when we all used the train, made jokes about British Rail sandwiches but didn’t have to worry about apps, franchises and train lines.

This matt copy has some silverfish damage to the cover – the little perishers have removed areas of colour from the spine and covers (see photos) but actually the book is otherwise in unusually good condition with little wear and clean, tight pages. It has an original price sticker of 21p on the back.
