Stories about Jesus the Friend, Series 606a

Stories about Jesus the Friend, 1961) was the 2nd book to be issued in series 606a.  (Other bible stories are to be found in an earlier Ladybird series: 522.)

It was written by Hilda Rostron and illustrated by Clive Uptton.  Uptton also produced many similar bible-story illustrations as the main illustrator for Treasure magazine and as a regular contributor to Look and Learn.

The odd spelling to his surname was to avoid confusion with another artist – to distinguish himself, he simply decided to double the ‘t’.

This matt copy is in good condition inside and out.  The cover has edge wear, especially head and foot of spine, small scuffs and some foxing spots. The pages also have the odd foxing spot but are generally in good, clean condition.  It dates from the 1960s and has an original price of 2/6 printed inside.
