Kings and Queens of England, Book 1, 1968 (scruffy)

£3.00

The first of the two ‘Kings and Queens’ books of the 1960s, written by L du Garde Peach. This title was later revised – first to give it a new-look cover and then subsequently it was completely re-written and re-illustrated (taking away just about all of its considerable charm in the process).
The vivid, startling illustrations of the original version are by Frank Hampson. All the other history books of this era (Series 561) are illustrated by John Kenney.

This copy:

This matt copy is in fair condition externally and good condition inside – as you can see in the photos.  A well-worn and splitting spine cover and a small black label foot of spine.  A few other more minor knocks, bumps and creases.  Still, a serviceable copy if not one for the collector.  This copy dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back.
