British Birds and their Nests (DJ) (5th edition)

The first of the original ‘British Birds and their Nests’ books of series 536.  It is written by Brian Vesey-Fitzgerald and illustrated by Allen Seaby.  Seaby only illustrated one more book for Ladybird – the sequel to this.  He died before either was published.

Both book and DJ are in good condition.  The DJ has not been price-clipped, there are a couple of closed tears near the top front panel, a couple of brown spots and other light edge wear.  There’s a neat name in pencil on the inside DJ flap which would erase.  This is an early copy – 5th edition 1954 and has grey-brown open-wing endpapers, white titles to the front and no titles listed on the DJ flap.
