Flight four – India was the 4th of the Travel Adventure series, 587, written by David Scott Daniell and boldly illustrated by Jack Matthew. The series featured two children, Alison and John accompanying Daddy on exciting trips around the world. Alison and John are very eager beavers, always keen to research their destination, study maps and learn more about social and geo-political history. So this makes them fascinating reading today – capturing as it does the lingering assumptions of empire, of Commonwealth and of a burgeoning new world order that still places Britain at its centre. The early versions of the book are to be found with dustwrapper.

This copy still has its original unclipped DJ and is in very good condition. There are a few nicks and small closed tears to the edge of the DJ and a patch of discoloration to the front panel. Inside the book is very nice, with good, clean pages.
