The Ladybird Book of London was the one and only title in series 618 – (although it was later moved across to join the ‘Learnabout’ books, series 634, where it was re-written and re-illustrated – with photographs replacing the beautiful John Berry illustrations which are the best part of the original book). Then in 1971 (10 years after the original version was first published) it was translated into Esperanto by J C Wells and distributed, I believe, by the Esperanto society.
This was the only Ladybird title ever to be translated into Esperanto.
This one is in lovely, near mint condition. I don’t think it has ever been read (perhaps unsurprisingly).
It would make a brilliant gift for a Ladybird lover who appreciates something a bit different in their collection.
