Nelson, 1965, Series 561 (DJ)

Nelson was the 4th title in the 561 series, colourfully written by L du Garde Peach and illustrated by John Kenney.

In this lively telling of the life of the Nelson, Peach dwells on battles and victories.  The complex personal life and gossip that fascinated contemporary comentators is not mentioned at all.  Neither wife nor mistress feature in the story at all.

This copy still has it’s original DJ  (not price-clipped) in very good condition but for the marks which you can see in the photo and minor creasing. The book itself is in very good condition – and, if it isn’t quite a first edition – it is as close as you can get.
