The Peter and Jane Key Words reading scheme was so successful that very soon a number of support materials were also published. It soon became clear that the readers were very popular with parents as well as with schools – so the scheme’s creator, William Murray, brought this book out in 1969 to support the series. It is unusual for a Ladybird book of this era in that it is intended for adult use only. The text is relatively dense and can be found on both sides of the page. The illustrations include some interesting photographs of classrooms in the 1960s.
When the reading scheme was revised in the 1970s, this handbook was also revised – but this is the original 1960s version.
This matt copy is in very good condition inside and out. The book has an original price of 24p on the back, dating it to the 1970s.
