The Story of Joseph, Series 522 (laminated DJ)

The Story of Joseph was the 4th book to be issued in series 522.  (Other bible stories are to be found in an later Ladybird series: 606a.)

It was written by Lucy Diamon, illustrated by Kenneth Inns and was originally issued with a dust jacket.   It’s a pity that Inns didn’t illustrate many books for Ladybird; he had a lovely touch and sense of colour.

This copy has a price-clipped DJ but at some point it has been home laminated and can’t be removed.  The plastic coat has at least protected it from heavy wear and kept the bright colour of the covers.  Inside there are some grubby marks/foxing to page edges and tips and title page – but the contents pages are good.
