Tiptoes the Mischievous Kitten, 1952

Tiptoes the Mischievous Kitten  is the 2nd in the ‘Animal Stories’ series, 497.   As with the other books in this series, it was written by Noel Barr and illustrated by Percy Hickling.

This is a storybook intended to be read to young children.  Most of the stories deal with ‘naughty’ animals and the lessons they learn by the end of the book.  ‘Tiptoes’ is no exception – and the ending — as ever – is happy.  The earliest copies of this book were originally published with a dustwrapper.

This  is a matt copy in good condition but for obvious marks to the cover – front and back (see photos).  The front it is speckled with some dark dots.  On the back there are also grubby grey marks.  Inside, other than an inscription to the front endpapers, the pages are very nice and clean.  This copy dates from the 1970s and has an original price of 15p on the back.
