Jesus by the Sea of Galilee, Series 522 (DJ)

Jesus by the Sea of Galilee was the 8th book to be issued in series 522.  (Other bible stories are to be found in an later Ladybird series: 606a.)

It was written by Lucy Diamond, illustrated by Kenneth Inns and was originally issued with a dust jacket.   It’s a pity that Inns didn’t illustrate many books for Ladybird; he had a lovely touch and sense of colour.

This copy still has its original DJ which is very worn but still just about in ‘Good’ condition.  It has been square-price clipped.  The front panel is rather grubby and the spine rather sunned.  Inside the book endpapers have the residue marks that show where a book plate must have been removed.  With a red line-drawing on the cover under the DJ, I believe it to be a first edition.
