£3.50

There were 36 book in total in the Key Words reading scheme – the Peter and Jane books.  Each of 12 levels was divided into three: a, b and c.  The ‘a’ books introduced new vocabularly which was reinforced in the ‘b’ books while the ‘c’ books tended to focus on writing, spelling and phonics.  Book 3c Let Me Write  was first published in 1965.  It was written by William Murray and illustrated by Robert Ayton.

This matt copy is the original 1960s version is one of the hardest books to find in the series in the original 1960s version.  This copy is in good condition, inside and out.  Some wear to the edges and a light stain to the cover.  Also, if you are sharp-eyed, you will notice that a child has added some squiggles to the notepad that Jane is writing in.  Inside, the blanks have been filled in by a child – but these are in pencil and should erase reasonably well.  A decent copy of a hard-to-find book.  It dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back.
