The Story of Joseph, Series 522 (matt)

The Story of Joseph was the 4th book to be issued in series 522.  (Other bible stories are to be found in an later Ladybird series: 606a.)

It was written by Lucy Diamon, illustrated by Kenneth Inns and was originally issued with a dust jacket.   It’s a pity that Inns didn’t illustrate many books for Ladybird; he had a lovely touch and sense of colour.

This matt copy would be in very good condition inside and out (tight pages, not much wear) but for the sprinkling of brown spots, foxing, to the front free endpaper (see photo).  Other pages barely seem affected.  This copy dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 15p on the back.
