A Second Book of British Birds and their Nests (DJ)

The second of the original ‘British Birds and their Nests’ books of series 536.  It is written by Brian Vesey-Fitzgerald and illustrated by Allen Seaby.  Seaby was an accomplished artist with a long career as artist and lecturer by the time he illustrated this book. and he died before it was published.  Only the early editions were originally issued with a dustwrapper.

This copy still has its original dustwrapper which has been price-clipped. There’s quite a lot of wear and some discolouring to the DJ edges and corners and the odd minor blemish to the preliminary pages, but the reading pages are in good condition.  This is quite an early edition  and has white lettering on the DJ, brown lettering on the cover and buff boards with brown line drawing and grey-brown open-wing endpapers.
