The second of the original ‘British Birds and their Nests’ books of series 536. It is written by Brian Vesey-Fitzgerald and illustrated by Allen Seaby. Seaby was an accomplished artist with a long career as artist and lecturer by the time he illustrated this book. and he died before it was published. Only the early editions were originally issued with a dustwrapper.
A decent copy of this book but with an obvious flaw – at some point in its life, tape was used to hold some sort of DJ protector in place. Although the tape has long gone, the residue has left a brown mark on the book covers. DJ flaps and endpapers. . The DJ is not price-clipped and shows little wear. The pages, though well-turned, are generally clean – although there’s a library stamp on one page (see photos). A better copy, perhaps, than the photos and this description might suggest!
