Ned the Lonely Donkey, 1949

Ned the Lonely Donkey  is the 7th in the ‘Animal Stories’ series, 497.   As with the other books in this series, it was written by Noel Barr and illustrated by Percy Hickling.

This is a storybook intended to be read to young children.  Most of the stories deal with ‘naughty’ animals and the lessons they learn by the end of the book.  This story is a little different as Ned is hardly reponsible for feeling so lonely – but as ever, in the end he finds happiness..  The earliest copies of this book were originally published with a dustwrapper.

A matt copy in good+ condition. Some wear to the spine edges but very nice, clean pages.  This copy dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 18p on the back.
