Nelson, 1965, Series 561 (later style covers)

Nelson was the 4th title in the 561 series, colourfully written by L du Garde Peach and illustrated by John Kenney.

In this lively telling of the life of the Nelson, Peach dwells on battles and victories.  The complex personal life and gossip that fascinated contemporary comentators is not mentioned at all.  Neither wife nor mistress feature in the story at all.

Matt boards with the 1970s style blue framed boards. (Inside, this is the original version of the book – only the cover has been changed to keep the look in keeping with other books of the 1970s).  This copy is in very good condition inside and out.  there’s a little discoloration towards the base of the spine and a neat address stamp to the front endpapers but otherwise this is a very nice, clean copy. It dates to the 1970s and has the original price of 30p on the back.
